Christopher and Elizabeth Tomko completed just about every class at QSL.  Now they are on a robotics team in their home state.  Check out this article about them seen in photo five

The presentation at the Daphne Public Library was a smashing success!  We had a great time exploring green sources of energy.  We made a battery from COLA and lit up an LED!  We set up an electrolysis experiment and made our own hydrogen gas.  We also had fun with our fuel cell car.  Wish you could have been there!

Guess who came to Alabama?  Jonathan Adams!  He was here all the way from Pennsylvania.  He was in town with his family and called me up for lunch.  We met just across the Florida line in sunny Pensacola, Florida and boy was it sunny.  We had a great time talking about all of our other passions and especially electronics.  Jonathan is one of the top electronics students at QSL.  He has completed all of the "Edison Project," (2-years) all of "Introduction to Sensors" and he hopes to start Advanced DC soon.  He now operates his own HAM radio station (KB3TWZ) back home and has made many contacts from around the world.  He also knows Morse code at five words a minuet and plans to compete in a HAM Radio contest in coming weeks.  GO JONATHAN!

Jonathan and his dad Dave both took the test to become certified by the FCC to communicate using HAM radio equipment.  Jonathan is proud to tell people that he scored higher than his dad on the test for certification.  Both Jonathan and his dad said that lessons at QSL helped them a lot on the test.  Way to go Dave and Jonathan!  You make a teacher proud!!!

It is always GREAT to meet students face to face.  I am very proud of Jonathan and wish him all the best!

Next visit we hope to go sailing!
